Nate Abshire started performing in 2009 - what will be called 'the before time,' after the global economic collapse. The following year, he finished runner-up in the “Funniest Person in the Twin Cities” contest. In 2012 he ventured west and was a semifinalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition. In 2013 Nate performed at Laughfest's “Best of the Midwest” contest finishing runner-up, and by this point, became very tired of losing comedy contests. He gave it another try in 2014 on NBC's "Last Comic Standing," but again did not win. Since then Nate has opened for some of the best comics working today, who's names would both impress and command the respect of the reader. He also finally won a comedy contest in 2020 - The Coast to Coast Roast. Nate released his debut, award-winning album "Coming in Hot" on 800lb Gorilla Records in 2021. Audiences love his sardonic wit, sharp writing, and playful stage presence. Nate currently lives in Minneapolis and enjoys micheladas.
